Stan Sweeney, a PA native has homes in Richmond and Charlottesville VA. He is a  graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Arts and Design. Stan has had long career in Advertising and continues to create TV and Radio commercials and print ads for consumer brands.


Stan’s painting style is impressionism and includes landscapes, seascapes, sport and street scenes. He is a “Plein Air” painter and always paints outdoor to get the true natural color on to the canvases. He is inspired to paint water, clouds, and mountains. His goal for each painting is to let the subject matter dictate the style of brush work in a bold, vibrant manner. Stan’s paintings are from his photos on locations.


Stan has run seven marathons and continues road cycling and sea kayaking.


Stan is a musician and plays percussion in the 80-member Richmond Concert Band and performs in 10 concerts a year throughout Virginia. Stan’s a private pilot and a veteran.
